RN - L&D
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts with 3-4 weekend shifts on a 28-day schedule
* Self-scheduling available with schedule balanced by leadership based on experience and skill set
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in Labor & Delivery setting required
* Care for high-risk patients including those with high diabetic population
* Follow AWHONN Standards for Professional Registered Nurse Staffing:
- 1:1 ratio for patients 6cm or greater dilated
- 1:1 ratio for patients on Magnesium or insulin drip
- 1:2 ratio for all other patients
* Follow assigned C-Section patients through entire care until sign off
* Perform external versions and second trimester cerclages on day shift only
* No inductions performed under 39 weeks
* Chart using Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM for Surgical) and OBIX fetal surveillance system
* Use Workstations on Wheels (WOWs) for charting, Pyxis for medication administration, and Solaris IV pumps
* Scrubs provided for travelers working in L&D
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP, AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification or equivalent
* Active California RN license required
* Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
* Two professional references from within the past three years required, one must be from a supervisor
Facility:
This 172-bed Level II Trauma and Teaching Hospital is the only Trauma Center in the county, serving many surrounding communities. The facility's Labor & Delivery department includes 8 LDR rooms, 2 triage rooms that serve as pre-op for C-sections, 2 operating rooms, and 2 PACU beds. The organization has been recognized for excellence in patient care and maintains high standards for staffing and clinical practice.
