RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Shifts begin at 6:45 PM with clock-in window between 6:38 PM and 6:46 PM
* Weekend team schedule runs Friday through Sunday
* Holidays rotated with permanent staff; every other holiday can be expected
* No on-call responsibilities
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel contract
* Experience in facilities with 300+ beds required
* Must be comfortable with intubating patients as respiratory therapists serve as first line for intubation
* Must be accustomed to high and heavy workloads with an average of 13-15 patients per shift and 550 minutes of treatments per shift
* Perform all respiratory therapy duties including nebulizers, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, and CPT
* In ICU, responsibilities include placing A-lines, managing blood gases, intubation, and bronchoscopies
* Must be confident in making vent management suggestions and reading/alerting critical ABG values
* ICU assignments include up to 4 airways per therapist
* Treat patients with conditions including COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer
* Adult therapists will treat patients ranging from pediatrics to adults
* Operate Servo vents (U and I models)
* Chart using MEDITECH EMR system
* Scrub color: Ceil blue; ceil blue jacket only permitted
* Required certifications: RRT, Georgia state license, BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP required if working NICU)
* Must adhere to strict 75-mile radius rule

Facility:

This acute care facility is a large hospital with over 300 beds offering comprehensive respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings including ICU and NICU. The facility operates with in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7, supported by 24/7 pharmacy services. The respiratory therapy department is well-staffed with an average of 11 therapists on day shifts and 10-11 on night shifts, with charge and clinical coordinator support available.
