Opportunity:
Infusion RN
Job Details:
* Work 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, hours may differ based on unit needs
* No night, floating, or on-call shifts
* Every other weekend required
* 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratios: 12 patients during days, 14 patients on weekends
* 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic EMR experience required; Beacon experience preferred
* Required certifications: ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification, BLS
* OCN certification preferred
* AHA certification preferred
* Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, iron infusions, injections, and supportive oncology care
* Perform central line care including PICC lines and implanted ports, accessing/de-accessing ports, and lab draws
* Manage infusion reactions, symptom assessment, and patient education
* Care provided for scheduled infusion visits, same-day add-ons, and urgent symptom management
* Collaborate with oncology providers, pharmacy, and nurse navigators
* Use special equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Infusystem chemotherapy pumps, implanted ports/Port-a-Cath access devices, PICC lines, central venous catheters, chemo spill kits, PPE for hazardous drugs, and ultrasound IV
* Treat adult patients with diagnoses including solid tumor cancers, hematologic malignancies, anemia, neutropenia, dehydration, treatment-related side effects, and immune-compromised conditions
Facility:
This facility operates an adult outpatient oncology infusion center providing comprehensive cancer treatment and supportive care services. The center handles a high volume of daily visits and offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy. The facility maintains a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with oncology providers, pharmacy teams, and nurse navigators working together to deliver high-quality patient care.
