Opportunity:
RN - OB
Job Details:
* Provide quality nursing care for maternal and newborn patients
* Cross train and care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed
* Complete initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individual plans of care
* Appropriately triage patient care based on presenting or expressed symptoms
* Accurately administer medications
* Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening
* Manage medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, meconium management, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa
* Perform and accurately interpret fetal heart monitoring
* Manage pregnancy-related concerns such as hypertension and diabetes
* Assess condition of newborns and recognize situations requiring heightened surveillance or higher level of care
* Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification
* Recognize and manage neonatal sepsis
* Monitor newborns for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice
* Promote patient education and involvement in newborn care
* Two-year degree in nursing required; four-year degree preferred
* Wisconsin Registered Nursing license required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, NRP, ALSO, STABLE, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
