RN - Neuro/Stepdown

Job Details:

* Work on a 30-bed unit consisting of 22 Acute Care beds and 8 Neuro Stepdown beds
* Patient ratios of 6:1 on Acute Care and 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
* Unit staffed with 1 RN Charge covering all of 10 Tower, 1-2 Techs, and a unit secretary
* Acute Care equipment includes vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips with a focus on stroke care
* Neuro Stepdown equipment includes Vapotherm, BiPAP, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Weekend shifts are required
* Experienced nurses may float after orientation
* Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, personal connection, and daily huddle
* Most common procedures performed include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
* Strong acute care nursing skills and time management required
* Neuro Stepdown experience preferred
* Strong critical thinking skills required
* Required certifications: BLS for Acute Care; BLS and ACLS for Neuro Stepdown
* Dress code: Black, any shade of blue or grey scrubs; any color scrubs on Fridays
* This unit is an excellent stepping stone for nurses looking to advance to ICU
