Job Details:

* Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float to postpartum unit may be required; travelers who refuse to float may risk termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* No on-call required
* 24 orientation hours
* Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required; charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
* Required skills: Attend high-risk deliveries, breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk, care of neonates greater than 34 weeks and 29-34 weeks, NICU Level II, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter), ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Eat Sleep Console
* Special procedures include managing CPAP and UAC/UVC lines
* Special equipment includes High Flow and CPAP
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years (can include Charge RNs/Leads)

Facility:

This facility operates a Level II NICU specializing in the care of neonates 32 weeks gestation and above, with the capability to stabilize infants for transfer to a higher level of care when needed. The unit maintains a low census environment with 5 beds and robust interdisciplinary support services to ensure comprehensive patient care. The facility is part of a larger health system with sister facilities in the surrounding area.
