Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* ASCP certification required
* Generalist role covering hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, and limited microbiology
* Recent blood bank experience required
* No antibody ID required; blood bank typically covered if traveler extends
* Fast-paced environment with Trauma Level 3 designation, Open Heart/2 Cath Labs, and active Oncology Clinic
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Community hospital experience required
* Charting system experience required (any system accepted)
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Required skills include: hospital clinical laboratory, cardiac enzymes, hormone/thyroid testing, immunoassay, therapeutic drug monitoring, tumor markers, CBC manual, manual differential, platelet aggregation, urinalysis (manual macroscopic and microscopic), specimen collection, accessioning, pipetting, and quality assurance and controls
Facility:
This facility is a fast-paced community hospital with a Trauma Level 3 designation, offering a wide range of specialized services including open heart surgery, two catheterization laboratories, and an active oncology clinic serving approximately 600 patients per month. The laboratory department supports a comprehensive scope of testing across hematology, coagulation, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and limited microbiology, providing travelers with a dynamic and well-rounded clinical environment.
