Job Details:
* Night shift position on a Medical/Surgical unit
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Patient ratio of 1:5 on all shifts including nights and weekends
* 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule with holiday rotation as determined by manager
* Float required to like units within scope of practice based on facility needs
* 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Valid Kansas or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* BLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Care for adult patients with diagnoses including post-surgical bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, OBGYN, ENT, urology, and oncology
* Daily census of 20-25 patients across a 29-bed unit
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin, insulin, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, total joint replacement, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
