Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedule
* 48 hours per week with overtime beginning at 49 hours
* Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
* Charting system: Epic (recent experience within 6 months required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Texas State or Compact license must be in hand at time of submittal
* Medical surgical patient population serving adults and geriatrics
* Telemetry monitored in a centralized unit
* Free floating charge nurse on unit
* Patient Care Technicians assigned to each unit
* Patient Transporters available
* House discharge nurse that floats across all departments
* Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
* Required skills: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Med/Surg, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral Line Care/Management
* 20 orientation hours required
* 44-bed unit with a daily census of 37
* 50-mile radius rule applies, no local candidates
