Opportunity:

Respiratory Care Practitioner II

Job Details:

* Full-time position with varied 12-hour shifts and on-call required
* Perform all respiratory care services for patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
* Manage ventilators and administer nebulized medication therapy, oxygen therapy, specialty gas administration, and aerosol therapy
* Perform chest physiotherapy, mist tent therapy, and quality assurance and improvement activities
* Perform diagnostic procedures including 12-lead EKGs, simple pulmonary function testing, and pulse oximetry
* Assist physicians with cardiac stress testing
* Perform arterial and capillary punctures to determine oxygenation, acid-base balance, and efficiency of ventilation and metabolism
* Ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation
* Collaborate closely with other members of the healthcare team and participate in Rapid Response Team
* Record treatments and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts
* Assess patients, their needs, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassess based on response to treatment
* Participate in continuing education
* College diploma required
* Minimum three years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
* State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
* American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
* Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required
