Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Night shift position with shifts clustered together when possible (not guaranteed)
* Every other weekend rotation required
* 1-2 holidays per season (summer and winter) expected
* Up to 5 days of time-off may be approved (excluding holidays)
* Overtime occasionally available, offered to staff first
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* Travel experience strongly preferred
* Patient ratio of 1:2-3 based on acuity
* Care for Medical ICU patients including DKA, DTs, multisystem failure, ARDS, CIWA/ETOH, sepsis, pneumonia, and mixed assignments
* Care for Surgical ICU patients including open abdomen and thoracotomies
* Neuro patients may include CVA, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy/craniectomy, EVDs, and ICP monitoring
* CVICU patients include CABG/TAVR (24-48 hour post-op), fem-pop bypass, and AAA repair
* Travelers are not expected to care for CRRT, Impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO
* Stronger Medical ICU experience preferred over CV/surgical
* Required skills include cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol knowledge, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring (A-lines, CVP)
* Charting system: EPIC
* Equipment includes BD Alaris IV Pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
* Floating may be required to Respiratory Unit, Surgical Floor, Telemetry Floor, PCU, or ED for helping hands, transport, sitting, and task-based support
* Orientation includes general orientation and 2x 12-hour shifts of on-unit orientation
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Scrub color: Any color, must be professional
* Free parking available in designated areas
Facility:
This 388-bed hospital operates as a Level 3 Trauma Center with an 18-bed mixed ICU, including single and double occupancy rooms. The unit is well-staffed with comprehensive support including a Mobility Tech, HUC, 24/7 Rapid Response Nurse, Free Floating Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse, Phlebotomy, Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and an Intensivist present throughout the day. The facility has a strong culture of teamwork and is experienced in integrating travel professionals into their ICU environment.
