RN - NICU
Job Details:
* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Shift huddle begins at 7:00 with bedside report shortly after
* 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are considered weekend shifts for night shift)
* Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
* Self-scheduling with scheduler review to balance unit needs
* Level II NICU experience required; Level III NICU preferred
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within the past 6 months)
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP; STABLE certification preferred
* Pass/fail Sim Lab assessment for foley catheter insertion required on Day 1 of orientation
* Scrub color: Navy
* Patient ratios: NICU 2:1, Special Care Nursery (SCN) 3:1
* Unit consists of 12 private NICU rooms and 18 SCN beds across 3 POD-based rooms
* Equipment includes GE Monitors, Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators
* Charting system: Cerner
* Care for NICU patients 28 weeks and above with complex diagnoses including respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, meconium aspiration, hyperbilirubinemia, IUGR, sepsis, chest tubes, passive cooling, exchange transfusions, UAC/UVC lines, and PICC lines
* SCN patients include lower-acuity NICU diagnoses, CPAP, blood transfusions, and NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome)
* NNPs available 24/7 with Neonatologist in-house during the day
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* 2-shift orientation with a preceptor
* Travelers will not be floated out of the NICU
* May float to sister facility

This acute care facility operates a Level II NICU and Special Care Nursery, providing comprehensive neonatal care in a modern, private-room environment. The unit is supported by NNPs around the clock, a dedicated respiratory therapy team, and 24/7 pharmacy services with direct access to labor and delivery. The facility maintains a collaborative, self-scheduling environment and prioritizes continuity of care for its neonatal patient population.
