Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:3 ratio for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours
* 1 year of experience with cardiovascular or intermediate care patient population required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine, Epinephrine, Cardizem, and other blood pressure management medications
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
* Work with respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Nasal Cannula
* Floating required to same level and lower levels of acuity
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Must pass an open book orientation exam with a minimum score of 90%
* Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
* 18-bed unit supporting thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart
* Common diagnoses include Cath Lab cases, CVAs, CHF, A-fib RVR, and other cardiac and vascular-related conditions

This acute care facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering comprehensive cardiovascular services including a dedicated cardiovascular unit that supports thoracic surgery, electrophysiology, cath lab, and structural heart programs. The unit provides intermediate care and step-down services for post-cardiovascular ICU patients, with 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage, on-call cardiology services after hours, and respiratory therapy support around the clock. The organization maintains high standards for patient care through structured orientation programs and experienced multidisciplinary teams.
