PICU RN

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Holiday requirement applies if contract falls during that period
* Up to 5 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
* No on-call requirement
* Patient ratios vary between 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 on a mixed unit with ICU and Stepdown patients
* Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
* Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
* ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only)
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Care for pediatric patients ages 0-18 with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative surgical cases, and neurology/neurosurgery
* Provide support for ECMO/CRRT, renal or peritoneal dialysis, and additional complex supportive therapies
* Pediatric Palliative care available as needed
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Guaranteed hours subject to facility calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Block scheduling available pending manager approval based on unit needs
* Self-scheduling unit

Facility:

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 total staffed beds. The Pediatric Intensive Care unit is a 28-bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children from across the state. The unit supports a wide range of complex diagnoses and therapies, staffed by Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, with additional support from Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists. Charting is completed using Epic.
