Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts required
* 4 weekend shifts per month at unit discretion
* Holidays based on unit coverage needs
* Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of ER experience
* 1:4 patient ratio
* 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds; 6 trauma bays
* Common diagnoses include trauma, burns, and cardiac patients; pediatric and spinal cord cases also seen
* Facility sees approximately 88,000 patients per year, with 250-300 patients per day
* Charting system: Cerner
* Must be able to read telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
* Ventilators managed by respiratory therapy
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
* Pharmacist on-site in ER for 10 hours per day
* 2 charge RNs per shift with light patient load or task-based responsibilities
* 4 PCTs available as sitters per shift
* Must pass a Day 1 orientation exam (study guide provided)
* Must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion; SIMs Lab is pass/fail
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts on the floor
* May be floated mid-shift to sister campuses including Westgate, Litchfield Park, and Glendale locations (approximately 30 minutes apart)
* Personal vehicle required for travel between facilities
* Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
* Men must be clean shaven for fit test
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN
* ENPC is not accepted as a replacement for PALS certification
* BSN not required
* Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting offer (2 attempts allowed)

This Level 1 Trauma Center operates a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 88,000 patients per year across both acute and subacute care settings. The facility offers comprehensive specialty services including a cardiac center, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury certification, and robust support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage. The organization maintains multiple campuses and freestanding emergency room locations, providing a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced emergency and trauma nurses.
