Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 AM
* Day shift position with every other weekend requirement
* Rotate with permanent staff
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for both days and nights - must be comfortable with these ratios
* 14-bed unit providing acute care services
* Patient population includes diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psych patients
* Medications include Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
* Monitored unit - nurses are not required to read strips
* CPAP used at night; BiPAP used at night only
* CNA support available at approximately 1:12 ratio; CNAs may be pulled for 1:1 and sitter assignments
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Primary Care Nursing model
* LPNs and LPN-Cs are used on the floor
* Must have experience with high acuity, high turnover, and fast-paced environments - no Critical Access Hospital experience accepted
* 2 years of experience required in specialty with at least 1 prior travel assignment
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* ACLS preferred
* BSN not required
* Dress code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, OR White top and Caribbean Blue bottom, OR all white top and bottom
* No artificial, shellac, or gel nails permitted - polished nails only
* No bags permitted at the nurses station; personal lock may be brought for locker use
* Strict attendance policy in place
* Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the facility
