Opportunity:

RN - Observation Unit

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend required
* Rotate holidays with permanent staff
* No on-call or standby requirement
* 1 year of experience required with 1 travel assignment
* Strict 75-mile radius rule applies
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (ACLS not required but highly recommended)
* Work in a 22-bed medical observation unit with a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio
* Charge nurse occasionally takes patient assignments
* Heavy telemetry unit monitored by central monitoring - RNs read strips
* Administer Heparin drips as the primary titratable medication
* Perform EKGs and draw own labs
* No ventilator management required; BiPAP and CPAP may be present
* Float to med/surg as needed
* 3-shift unit-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Scrub color: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, White top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white top and bottom
* Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover, including up to 16 discharges per day
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a fast-paced 22-bed medical observation unit that serves a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical diagnoses. The unit is equipped with heavy telemetry capabilities and central monitoring, supporting high-acuity observation patients. The facility maintains a structured staffing model with CNAs on the floor and a dynamic charge nurse system to ensure quality patient care.
