Open Position: RN - Observation Unit Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - OBS Stepdown & Floor

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* May be expected to work holidays as scheduled
* Charge nurse opportunities available
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Unit consists of 31 beds split between Stepdown and Floor on the same floor
* Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3; Floor nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
* Nurse aides available with 3-4 aides for 31 patients
* Charge nurse on each shift with house supervisor in-house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy in-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
* Telemetry on unit with tele techs; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
* Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin drips on the Floor
* Common patient diagnoses include MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, and pain management
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
* BSN not required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue

This acute care facility operates a combined Stepdown and Medical-Surgical floor unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for a diverse patient population. The facility maintains robust support systems including 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy, house supervisors, and telemetry technicians to ensure high-quality patient care. The organization utilizes EPIC as its primary charting system and is equipped to handle a wide range of medical conditions and diagnoses.
