Job Details:

* Variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
* May be required to cover one night shift within the contract as needed
* On-call is required and will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, which could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period including nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour shifts)
* Float between sister facilities may be required; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Float between Queen, Petaluma Valley, and Hillsberg facilities as needed
* Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
* Daily census of approximately 25 cases
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include orthopedics (total joints and ortho trauma), neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU, and GYN procedures
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience required with at least 1 year of OR experience
* Travel experience required
* Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required
* Experience with ortho/spine, neurosurgery, vascular, general, plastics, ENT, and GYN procedures required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Required certification: BLS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
* No unit secretary on night shift; night shifts are typically staffed with 2 people (1 RN/1 ST or 2 RNs)
* First-time travelers accepted
* Local candidates accepted (within 50-mile radius)
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This acute care hospital operates with 277 staffed beds and provides comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general surgery, GU, and GYN. The facility supports a wide range of complex procedures and maintains robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and interpretation services.
