Opportunity:

RN - Medical/Surgical (Acute Care)

Job Details:

* 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with weekends scheduled as needed (typically 1 out of every 2 weekends)
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6/7 - must be comfortable with ratios up to 1:7
* 30-bed acute care unit
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, rule-out cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
* Required to titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
* Telemetry monitoring available on unit, watched remotely by monitor technicians
* Intermittent BiPAP used on unit (no ventilators)
* PCTs/nurse aides available on the unit
* Charge RN on the floor with assignment
* Floating required as needed based on census - travel nurses are floated first
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Must reside outside of 50-mile radius - copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed medical/surgical unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for a wide range of conditions. The unit is supported by PCTs, remote telemetry monitoring technicians, and a dedicated charge nurse. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic health records system and is transitioning to Qgenda for scheduling, reflecting a commitment to modernizing operations and improving staff experience.
