Opportunity:
TRAVEL - RN - Cardiac PICU (646)
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
* Maintain 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (estimated, never guaranteed)
* Night shift includes 1 Charge RN with RN staffing based on volume
* Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Critical Care experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
* Preferred skills include peritoneal dialysis, CRRT skills, and ECMO bedside experience
* Utilize equipment including Philips monitors, Med Fusion and Baxter pumps
* Document using Meditech EMR system
* Perform post-op care including inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy/open chest patients
* Administer moderate sedation as needed
* Work with specialized equipment including centrimag, prismax, and arctic sun
* Serve the congenital cardiac population including medical neonates and cardiac patients
* Collaborate with board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists and multidisciplinary team
* Best personality fit includes being flexible, organized, a good communicator, and someone who enjoys teaching
Facility:
This facility houses a Pediatric Cardiac ICU operating as an ECMO Center of the hospital, serving medical neonates and cardiac patients in a 10-bed unit partnering with the PICU. The nursing team averages 10 years of experience with a high engagement score and strong culture of safety, committed to evidence-based practice, prevention, and quality metrics. The physician team is comprised of board-certified pediatric and congenital heart intensivists dedicated to delivering the highest level of compassionate critical care in partnership with nursing staff.
