Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in an ER setting required
* Kentucky or compact nursing license required
* Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers accepted with Level 1 ER experience)
* No Trauma Level 1 experience necessary; Trauma Level 1 experience preferred
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 4-5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks required
* For 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM shifts, Friday and Saturday count as weekends
* For 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM shifts, Saturday and Sunday count as weekends
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Requested time off longer than 1 week not approved unless special circumstance
* 40 orientation hours required
* Serves patient age groups including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 90 with approximately 250 visits per day across 84 rooms and 100 beds
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC (PALS can substitute), TNCC, NIHSS
* Additional required competencies: Advanced Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, EKG Onboarding exam, ED Competency exam, ED skills, and CORE exams
* Required skills include care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage, and Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred

This facility operates a large emergency department with 84 rooms and 100 beds, managing approximately 250 patient visits per day. The department provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory care, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility serves a diverse patient population across all age groups and maintains high compliance and competency standards for all clinical staff.
