Float Pool RN

Job Details:

* Float pool position requiring flexibility across multiple units including MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU
* Primary float assignment is ICU Float with potential to float to all MS, MS/Tele, PCU, and ICU units within the hospital
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient ratios: 1:2-3 ICU; 1:4-5 PCU; 1:5-6 MS and MS Tele
* 48-hour guarantee approved but not mandatory
* Every other weekend required (average 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th - 12th)
* All RTO must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule requests can be made post-offer or onsite
* Holiday work expectations: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* No on-call requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, CVA/acute stroke management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, neuro intensive care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury care, traumatic brain injury care, ventilator management, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required

This large health system operates multiple facilities and supports a wide range of specialty units including medical-surgical, telemetry, PCU, ICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU. The organization provides robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility utilizes Epic as its primary charting system and maintains high standards for staffing, scheduling, and patient care across all units.
