RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS prior to start
* Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:2-3; travelers should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient
* 24-room unit with an average daily census of 19
* General diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GI bleeding, COPD exacerbation, Encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
* Required skills include care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, CVA/Acute Stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Post Cardiac Surgery care, Post Neurosurgery management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend shift required
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* Holiday coverage required; if one or two major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work them; if three major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Special equipment includes cardiac monitoring, BIS, Train of Four, Arctic Sun, FloTrac, and IABP
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Orientation hours: 12
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
