Opportunity:
RN - Bone Marrow Transplant
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend required
* Call required
* Required certifications: BLS; Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Bone marrow transplant experience required; experience administering cells not required
* Perform cell and gene therapy administration
* Administer blood products
* Administer chemotherapy and conditioning treatments
* Provide supportive care administration
* Conduct triage
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Work with hematologic malignancy diagnoses
* Manage and access ports, central lines, PICC lines, and implanted lines
* Administer IV push chemotherapy and monitor chemotherapy treatments
* Manage cytotoxic therapy and handle body fluids post-chemotherapy
* Recognize and manage chemotherapy side effects including nausea, vomiting, and extravasation injury
* Apply neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
* Perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
* Support patient and family education
* Michigan nursing license in-hand at time of submission required (compact license not accepted)
* 2 manager or supervisor references required
* No requested time off during the first week of contract

This facility is a large academic health system offering comprehensive oncology and bone marrow transplant services. The unit supports a daily census of approximately 14 patients and benefits from robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more. The facility is committed to delivering advanced cancer care through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
