Opportunity:

PCU/Tele Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 4x12 hour shifts available
* Weekend coverage required
* Patient ratio of 5 patients per nurse on nights and weekends
* Float required as needed within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Cerner charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
* Active PA or Compact license required
* Primary patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
* Top diagnoses include CHF, new onset Afib, COPD, and pneumonia with mostly telemetry and some medical PCU overflow
* Skills required include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care/management, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
* Additional skills include accessing/managing ports, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube care, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, post TPA care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Possible drips include Heparin (per protocol), Bumex, Cardizem, Nitro, Amiodarone (per protocol), and Dopamine (no titration required)
* No insulin drips; all hypoglycemic/insulin protocols in use
* Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
* Two supervisor references preferred

Facility:

This facility is a community hospital offering a progressive care/telemetry unit with a daily census of approximately 30 patients across 35 beds and 32 rooms. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The facility emphasizes collaborative, high-quality patient care in a well-resourced environment.
