Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Telemetry
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Charge nurse experience preferred
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:5 with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Epic charting system experience required; Pyxis and SBAR also utilized
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Self-scheduling with a maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th); all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
* Floating required to other Cardiac Telemetry units or other units within scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Holiday coverage expected: if 1?2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* 24 orientation hours required
* Patient diagnoses include: Post MI, Heart failure, Arrhythmias, Chest pain, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
* Special procedures include Peritoneal Dialysis
* Special equipment includes Telemetry, EKG, and Doppler
* Required clinical skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, pacemaker management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and others
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required
