Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 3x12-hour shifts with 0700 or 0800 start times
* Rotating days of the week schedule
* Call required on a rotational basis, approximately 3 twenty-four hour weekend shifts per six-week schedule and 1-2 days per week of overnight call from 2000-0700 per six-week schedule
* Minimum 2 years of PACU-specific experience required
* Associate's Degree (A.S.) or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (trauma certification preferred)
* EPIC experience required
* Current RN license in state of practice required
* Provide nursing care to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperative period
* Receive report from anesthesiologist, surgeon, and/or circulating RN regarding surgical intervention and incorporate into nursing plan of care
* Perform physical assessments of patients post anesthesia including general, spinal, regional, or IV sedation
* Manage airway of patients following anesthesia
* Assure control of pain, bleeding, and nausea, proper positioning, management of airway, and stabilization of vital signs
* Monitor hemodynamic status of post-surgical patients
* Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care of patients during life-threatening emergencies
* Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and other impending emergencies
* Administer medications, manage intravenous therapy including blood products, and maintain indwelling catheters and drains
* Respond immediately to emergency situations

This 162-bed acute care facility has been serving its community since 1959 and includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a county-designated trauma center. The facility is part of a well-established healthcare network and provides a wide range of specialized services to support comprehensive patient care.
