Opportunity:

Surgical Technologist

Job Details:

* Function in the role of scrub person within the operating room environment
* Work under the supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse to ensure a safe OR environment
* Ensure equipment functions properly and operative procedures are conducted to maximize patient safety
* Complete case carts according to preference cards and procure necessary instruments and supplies
* Communicate clearly with operating room staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases
* Review daily schedule with charge nurse and sterile processing day coordinator to identify potential turnover delays and scheduling issues
* Manage core phone communications and coordinate breaks and lunches with appropriate individuals
* Serve as a resource for sterile processing and surgical services departments for procurement of supplies and instrumentation
* Communicate and coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment
* Must possess expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and related tools and technologies
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program required
* Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
* American Heart Association BLS certification required
* Must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
* Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
