Opportunity:

Peds Cardiac Prep and Recovery RN

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
* Staff remain until the last patient is either discharged or admitted, rarely extending past 7:00 PM
* Perform a minimum of 2-3 patient visits per day
* No weekend requirements and no on-call responsibilities
* Minimum of 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts required per month
* Scheduling is self-scheduling with the team; manager finalizes schedule to ensure all shifts are covered evenly
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Provide pre and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional Cath procedures
* Care for a patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
* Perform sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
* Cath procedures include diagnostic, valves, single ventricle pathway, and device closures (ASD, PDA)
* Pediatric EP procedures included in scope of care
* Utilize special equipment including EKG, glucometer, and iStat
* Use Epic charting system (required)
* Minimum 2+ years of RN experience required; preferred procedural or pediatric ICU experience
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* South Carolina RN license must be in hand prior to start
* No floating within facility or to sister facilities required
* Trauma Level I experience preferred

This facility is a leading academic medical center offering advanced pediatric cardiac care, specializing in complex cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional catheterization procedures. The unit supports a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients, with a daily census of 8 patients across 6 beds. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more, ensuring a collaborative and well-resourced care environment.
