Opportunity:
RN - Psychiatric
Job Details:
* Work three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week including weekends
* Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in contract
* No on-call requirements
* Float policy based on greatest need across units
* Units include ADOL (adolescent patients ages 12-18), Serenity (lower acuity adult unit), ITU (higher acuity adult unit for patients with thought disorder diagnoses), SRAD (patients living a senior lifestyle), and VINE (lower acuity adult unit)
* Patient ratios: nurses 8:1, MHTs 12:1
* Assess patients' mental health status including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems
* Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs including setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes
* Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
* Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for patients experiencing suicidal ideation or aggression
* Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
* Utilize therapeutic communication, active listening, and empathy when building rapport with patients
* Document using Meditech system
* Required dress code: nurses wear blue scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS and CPI (active Blue Card CPI required at time of submission)
