Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience preferred
* High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of newborn until transfer to postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eyes and Vitamin K injections, thighs, and newborn assessments
* Must be proficient with Epic electronic fetal monitoring
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Average daily census of 15 patients; 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds with 4 operating rooms
* Float required to postpartum and antepartum units; may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

The unit is equipped with 4 operating rooms and 31 beds, offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams. The facility is committed to providing exceptional maternal and newborn care in accordance with AWHONN guidelines.
