Opportunity:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse - CVICU RN - 10 Bed Unit
Job Details:
* Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a cardiac medical surgical unit
* Deliver physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients
* Care for anticipated patient populations including pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and a broad scope of surgical services
* Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, A-lines, multiple IVs, and patients requiring short-term ventilation support
* Care for general medical and surgical patients on the inpatient unit from admission to discharge including discharge planning
* Assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
* Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
* Recent open heart recovery nurse experience required - must be trained to care for immediate post-operative open heart patients from day one
* Recent critical care experience required with CVICU and open heart experience preferred
* Skills required include use of multiple IV pumps, advanced medical equipment, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support, basic cardiac telemetry, and EKG interpretation
* Current State of Montana RN licensure required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Degree from an accredited nursing program required

This facility operates with 36 licensed inpatient beds and a 10-bed ICU unit, currently expanding its cardiac services to accommodate higher acuity patients. The organization is led by a collaborative team including providers, charge nurses, an ICU Director, and a CNO. The facility provides a full range of critical care services with a strong emphasis on cardiovascular care, supporting a team-oriented environment across multiple healthcare disciplines.
