RN - Float Pool L&D
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours of 6:45 AM to 7:30 PM and night shift hours of 6:45 PM to 7:30 AM
* 4 shifts of 12 hours per week schedule
* No self-scheduling; shift trades allowed with manager approval and RTO requests submitted upfront
* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Travelers will be first to float and may float mid-shift at any time to different units and facilities as needed
* Float within women's services only: antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum for full assignments
* May float to any facility in the region with all hospitals approximately 20 minutes apart and easily accessible off the interstate
* Unit assignment communicated via app 1 hour before shift start indicating hospital and unit location
* Care for antepartum patients at 22+ weeks gestation and labor and delivery patients including PPROM, placenta previa, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, twins, and high-risk patients
* Postpartum assignments include full couplet care with a 1:6 ratio and car seat studies
* Required to titrate drips including Pitocin (commonly 1-20 mL/units, up to 40 mL/units), insulin, and Magnesium
* PPV only for respiratory equipment; NICU resource attends all deliveries
* OB Laborist and Neonatologist available 24/7 along with dedicated CRNA for anesthesia
* Charge nurse present on all units and all shifts
* Surgical techs available, though less frequent on night shifts
* Telemetry strips read by tele techs; no tele tech monitor reading required of RN
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrubs provided
* Orientation includes 4-5 shifts across all three sites covering labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and OR areas
* Minimum 3 years of experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum required
* No first-time travelers accepted
* Prefer ability to circulate in the OR
* Must be an excellent communicator with knowledge of chain of command and use of resources
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 times per 13-week contract
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA or ARC), BLS (AHA or ARC), NRP, PALS, STABLE Certification, AWHONN fetal monitoring
