Opportunity:

ICU RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* 4 shifts per week schedule
* Weekend rotation required every other weekend including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Holiday requirement of 2 out of 3 holidays
* On-call and standby opportunities may be required
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1 for ICU and 3:1 for IMC dependent on acuity
* Must be comfortable titrating drips including Levophed, propofol, Cardizem, esmolol, and insulin
* Must be comfortable troubleshooting and assisting with RT equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
* Must be able to float to Med/Surg with ratios ranging from 1:3 to 1:6
* Must be able to read and verify telemetry strips; monitor tech available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily
* Charge nurse takes a full patient assignment
* Hospitalist or intensivist in house until 6:00 PM daily; ICU Tele Physician coverage at night
* Respiratory therapy not housed in ICU but available 24/7
* No nurse aides on unit
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* Must be comfortable floating to MS-Tele
* Experience in Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 facility preferred, or experience in a rural setting preferred
* Comfortable working with limited onsite resources (no IV team, RT oversees entire hospital)
* Solid professional scrub color required, no specific color designated
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* Must clock in and out at the facility
* Cancellation policy: client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 5-bed ICU with 2 intermediate care beds and specializes in treating conditions such as respiratory failure, septic shock, detox, DKA, atrial fibrillation, and arrhythmias requiring pacing. The facility maintains strong competency in ventilator management and operates at a Trauma Level 4 designation. The organization provides a collaborative environment with hospitalist coverage and around-the-clock respiratory therapy support across the facility.
