Opportunity:

RN - 2C Observation Unit

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend required
* Rotate holidays with permanent staff
* No on-call or standby requirements
* 1 year of experience required with 1 travel assignment
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS - ACLS not required but highly recommended
* Scrub color requirements: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, OR white top with Caribbean Blue bottom, OR all white top and bottom
* Work in a 22-bed medical observation unit with a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio
* Charge nurse occasionally takes patient assignments
* Heavy telemetry unit monitored by central monitoring - RNs read strips
* Perform own EKGs and draw own labs
* Administer Heparin drips - no ventilators on unit
* Float to med-surg as required
* 3-shift unit orientation provided
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover - up to 16 discharges per day with rapid refill
