Opportunity:

RN - Medical/Surgical Unit

Job Details:

* Work on D2 unit, a 40-bed Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced throughput
* Patient ratios: 1:5 Step-Down/1:6 MedSurg, 1:5 if combined day and night shifts
* Every other weekend scheduling requirement with no call responsibilities
* Assist with holidays as needed
* Expected to float to other units within skill set
* Scrub color requirements: Navy Blue/White or combination of the two colors, no t-shirts
* Appropriate navy or white jacket/sweater if needed
* Work with Baxter IV pumps and Cerner documentation system
* Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) level experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Additional certifications preferred but not required
* Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider appreciated
* Focus on receiving admitted patients from ED, completing admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and initiating acute care orders
* Care for patients with wide variety of diagnoses requiring well-rounded background
* Minimal bedside procedures due to unit environment
* Additional opportunities available in CMU Telemetry Unit and as ED Transporters
