Rad Tech - Interventional Radiology

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
* 40 hours guaranteed per week
* 13-week contract
* Call requirement: one day per week on a rotation schedule (Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Weekend)
* Weekend requirement: 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks
* No float requirement
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
* Previous stroke certified hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required work setting skills: Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures
* Required equipment skills: Fluoroscopy, PACS, and equipment maintenance and stocking of supplies
* Required abdominal and pelvic skills: Angioplasty, Chemoembolization, Embolization, IVC filter placement and removal, Inferior vena cavagram, Mesenteric Angiogram, Pelvic angiography, Percutaneous Hepatic Angiography, Renal Angiography, Selective visceral angiography, and Superior vena cavogram
* Required genitourinary skills: Angiography of genitourinary system, Catheter/drain exchange, Cholecystostomy, Embolization, Gastrostomy, Internal/external biliary drainage, Nephrostomy, Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, Renal Angiography, Ureteral Stent Placement, and Uterine Arterial Embolization
* Required neurological skills: Carotid Angiography, Embolization, Stent placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy, and Vertebroplasty
* Required vascular skills: Angioplasty, Carotid Stenting, Central Venous Access/Port Placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy, and TIPS
* Required venous access skills: Central Venous Access (non-Tunneled/PICC lines)
* Required procedural responsibilities: Equipment set up, prep access site, room circulator, and scrub to maintain sterile field
* Required professional knowledge: 3D imaging, Isolation Precautions/PPE, lead tech experience, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
* Required infection control skills: Sterile Technique
* Special procedures include: Stroke Intervention, Intracranial Embolization, Kyphoplasty, Carotid and Vertebral Stent, Nephrostomy, Biliary Placement, Chemo Embolization, Therasphere Mapping and Infusion, Mesenteric Angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, Chest Port, and Perm Cath Placement
* Special equipment required: Fluoroscopy, GE Innova Single Plane, and Siemens Artis Biplane x2
* Unit systems required: Pyxis and Epic
* Required certifications: ARRT and BLS
* Preferred certifications: ARRT CI and ARRT VI
* Scrubs not provided; light blue scrubs required
* Orientation: 40 hours

Facility:

This is a large healthcare facility with a daily census of 450 patients, 650 beds, and 3 interventional radiology rooms averaging 20 visits per day. The facility offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary support system including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary services, and more. The interventional radiology department is equipped with advanced imaging technology and handles a wide range of complex vascular and interventional procedures.
