NICU RN
Job Details:
* Friday through Sunday weekend block schedule
* Every other weekend required, may exceed to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* No floating between like units; may float to Mother/Baby for babies if couplet experience exists
* Patient ratios up to 1:3, staffed by acuity
* 14-bed Level III NICU with approximately 190 births per month
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
* Level III NICU experience required - hard stop
* Travel experience required
* Guaranteed hours: facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Orientation: 36 hours
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (will allow NRP if willing to obtain advanced before start), PALS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue for RNs
* Free parking available
* Patient population includes neonates and infants with diagnoses including prematurity, feeders and growers, RDS, NAS, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and jaundice
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, high frequency ventilation, HFNC, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, PICC line management, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and neonatal dosage calculations
* Special procedures include: central lines, ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations
* Special equipment includes: CPAP, BIPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, warmers, and high frequency ventilators/oscillators
* Interdisciplinary support available: respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* All RTO must be included at time of submission; approval based on facility needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

This acute care hospital features a 212-bed facility offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The facility operates a Level III NICU serving a large community including a significant Hispanic population and holds a CCS designation. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and is equipped with advanced neonatal technology to care for the most vulnerable patient populations.
