Opportunity:
RN - Oncology/Cancer Unit
Job Details:
* Work 3x12 night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
* No on-call requirements
* Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
* Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as 1 holiday)
* May be required to float to other areas of the organization up to competency level
* Required to pick up one additional shift during each schedule period
* 2+ years of RN experience required, including 1 year in Oncology
* Minimum 6 months of recent chemotherapy/oncology experience required
* Prior travel experience of at least one 13-week assignment required
* Nevada RN license required prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS
* ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred
* Administer various chemotherapies and immunotherapies including HD Methotrexate, induction and consolidation for Leukemias, Rituximab, R-EPOCH, R-CHOP, and others
* Care for primary patient population consisting of direct admits for chemotherapy and patients admitted for complications related to their disease process
* Work on a 27-bed unit with a mixture of oncology and medical surgical patients
* Unit equipped with remote telemetry monitoring capabilities; telemetry testing and ACLS not required
Facility:
This facility is an extremely busy and fast-paced Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with stroke accreditation and 800 inpatient beds. The volume and pace of this environment are comparable to that of a Level I trauma center. The facility is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, treating over 80,000 emergency and trauma patients annually. It is home to a children's hospital, a robotic surgery institute, comprehensive brain and nerve care, and extensive heart and cancer services. The facility has pioneered numerous regional firsts, including the area's only accredited heart failure center, Institute for Neurosciences, low-dose CT imaging, Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and dedicated PET/CT scanner technology.
