Opportunity:
RN - Utilization Review
Job Details:
* Ensure patients receive appropriate care by verifying medical necessity and confirming correct patient status
* Monitor ongoing need for services while working to reduce unnecessary length of stay and prevent delays
* Support accurate clinical documentation for proper reimbursement
* Coordinate with providers and care team on discharge planning and transitions of care
* Manage resource use to control costs and communicate with payers to prevent denials
* Ensure compliance with CMS and Joint Commission requirements
* Contribute to reporting and quality improvement efforts
* Serve as key liaison between clinical care, finance, and regulatory requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
* Valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory required
* BLS certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) required
* Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience performing direct patient care required
* At least 2 years of experience in an inpatient setting on a medical-surgical unit, PACU, ICU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or home health required
* Demonstrated knowledge of case management, purchased referred care, and utilization review processes required
* Demonstrated knowledge of electronic health record systems required
* Shared contractor housing only - no pets or family members permitted per facility policy
Facility:
This JCAHO accredited health center provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for a large region of the surrounding reservations. The facility has a bed capacity of 73 and offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery, and urological procedures. The medical staff includes a wide range of specialists such as surgeons, internal medicine physicians, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists.
