Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts with every other weekend required
* 40-bed Level III NICU unit
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 for critical and intermediate infants; 3:1 for infants who are growing and feeding
* Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
* Level III NICU experience required
* Active ND and Compact RN License required (must be willing to obtain if not active)
* Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
* Deliver nursing care to neonates including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, intervention, evaluation, and charting
* Assist with procedures including intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions
* Perform neonatal assessments and care for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, oral and IV medications, OG and NG feedings, and G-tubes
* Operate equipment including conventional ventilators (Draeger), high frequency ventilators (jet and oscillator), nitric oxide, cool cap, MedFusion pumps, smart pumps, and Spacelab monitors
* Chart using EPIC (OneChart); experience with EPIC highly preferred
* Administer medications using MAK and Accudose systems
* Must be able and willing to float to PICU and PEDS within scope of practice
* Child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pants required
* All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 40-bed Level III NICU providing comprehensive neonatal care for critically ill and intermediate infants. The unit is equipped with advanced technology including conventional and high frequency ventilators, nitric oxide therapy, and cool cap systems. The facility offers a structured orientation program including EPIC training and hands-on unit-specific onboarding to ensure traveling nurses can safely and effectively integrate into the care team.
