Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Charge nurse experience preferred
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:5 with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
* Floating required to other Cardiac Telemetry units or other units as needed
* No call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* Holiday work expectations: if 1?2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* 24 orientation hours required
* Skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), pacemaker management, PCA, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, procedural sedation monitoring, renal failure, seizure disorders, IV placement, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury management, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Special procedures include peritoneal dialysis
* Special equipment used: telemetry, EKG, Doppler
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required
