Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Must be located outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Daily census of 48 patients across 48 beds
* Float to other units as long as competencies are met
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Apply the nursing process across patient age groups including adults and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered following regulatory requirements
* Work with patient diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion, AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, peripheral and PICC line management, phlebotomy, PCA, pre/post hemodialysis management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and adapt to practice changes
