WNTR - L&D - 3x12 - 26 weeks - Nights
Job Details:
* 26-week contract working night shifts on a 3x12 schedule
* Post-partum experience preferred
* Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Average daily census of 15-20 patients
* 11 rooms and 15 beds on unit
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, and adults
* Patient ratio experience of 1:3 required
* Float required within scope to meet facility needs; travelers are first to float
* Self-scheduling unit
* 40 orientation hours required
* Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
* California state license required; pending license not accepted
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
* Required charting system experience: Epic
* Key skills required include: Labor & Delivery, Cesarean Section circulation, high-risk antepartum care, couplet care, postpartum hemorrhage management, magnesium sulfate therapy, external and internal fetal monitoring, newborn assessment, epidural anesthesia, Pitocin administration, and breastfeeding/lactation support
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
* Pre-approved time off limited to no more than 7 days per contract
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

This facility is a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit that cares for a high-risk obstetric and culturally diverse patient population. The unit supports registered nurses in circulating for cesarean sections and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility is committed to delivering exceptional maternal and newborn care across a broad range of clinical needs.
