Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac/Telemetry (5 North)

Job Details:

* 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system experience required; Epic system used
* Half of contract shifts include weekend coverage
* 16 hours of orientation provided
* Care for adult patients ranging from young adults through geriatric population
* Provide cardiac-focused nursing care including post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implant, and hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
* Required skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care and management, heparin protocols, vasoactive drip management, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, and wound care
* Additional skills include blood product administration, feeding tube care, PICC line management, PCA management, tracheostomy care, sheath removal, pre/post hemodialysis management, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

This facility features a dedicated cardiac unit with 36 private rooms, providing specialized medical care to patients requiring cardiac intervention and recovery. The unit prioritizes admissions for patients needing a medical level of cardiac care and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The facility maintains a strong focus on cardiac care excellence, supporting a wide range of cardiac procedures and interventions.
