RN - Renal Med Surg
Job Details:
* Renal Med Surg unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with 49 rooms and an average daily census of 48
* Every other weekend shift required
* No on-call requirements
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* Holiday expectations: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required charting system: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certification: BLS
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, telemetry, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, PCA, phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Special equipment includes lifting equipment
* Orientation hours: 12 hours
* Self-scheduling
