Job Details:

* 17-week contract assignment
* Shift times vary: Days 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, Mids 10:00 AM-10:00 PM, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, 12:00 PM-12:00 AM, 1:00 PM-1:00 AM, 2:00 PM-2:00 AM, Evenings 3:00 PM-3:00 AM, Nights 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required, with flexibility for occasional back-to-back weekends
* No on-call or floating requirements
* Scrub color: Any, no logos
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will not be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Patient ratios: 1:3-5 based on acuity; ER is set up in zones including a fast track green zone with 13 beds
* Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma cases
* Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, and blood product administration required
* Triage experience required - must pass hospital's Triage Test before allowed to triage
* Must be able to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, and BiPAP/ventilators
* Strong understanding of ESI required
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
* Handles stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder cases
* Stabilize and transfer out cases including neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high acuity pediatric patients

Facility:

This 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital features a 34-bed emergency department that sees 200-250 patients per day, making it the busiest ED in the state. The facility operates as a Level III trauma center providing comprehensive emergency services across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, stroke, behavioral health, and pediatric care. The emergency department is organized into distinct zones to optimize patient flow and care delivery.
