Job Details:
* 19-week contract for holiday coverage
* Shift options available: Days (7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM), Mids (10:00 AM-10:00 PM, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, 12:00 PM-12:00 AM, 1:00 PM-1:00 AM, 2:00 PM-2:00 AM), Evenings (3:00 PM-3:00 AM), Nights (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
* Every other weekend rotation required, with flexibility needed for occasional back-to-back weekends
* No on-call or floating requirements
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will not be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* Epic EMR experience required
* Skills required: barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience (must pass hospital's Triage Test before triaging), ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/ventilator management, and strong understanding of ESI
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Point of care lab experience is a plus
* Patient population ranges from neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder patients
* Level III trauma center experience required
* Patient ratios of 1:3-5 based on acuity; emergency department is organized in zones including a fast track green zone with 13 beds
* Scrub color: Any color, no logos permitted
Facility:
This 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital features a 34-bed emergency department seeing 200-250 patients per day, making it the busiest emergency department in the state. The facility operates as a Level III trauma center equipped to handle a wide range of patient needs including stroke care, cardiac catheterization, behavioral health, and substance use disorder cases. The emergency department is organized into zones to efficiently manage high patient volumes and acuity levels, with a dedicated fast track area for lower acuity cases.
