Opportunity:

RN Med Surg - Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 36 or 48 hour per week options available; hours beyond 48 per week are considered overtime
* 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
* No on-call responsibilities required
* Floating to like units as needed
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 32-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* 1 year of recent Med Surg experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Self-scheduling
* Required certifications: BLS; CPI preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Rapid response team activation available on unit

The Med Surg unit operates with 32 beds and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility is affiliated with a heart hospital and maintains high standards of patient care for adult and geriatric populations.
